A 29-year-old woman from New Jersey set a house on fire at 4 am. Currently, she’s facing serious charges of aggravated arson, endangering, criminal mischief and attempt to murder after she allegedly set a man’s house on fire.
Who Was The Woman Who Set the House on Fire?
Taija Russell, a 29-year-old woman from New Jersey. She was having a sexual relationship with the owner of the house whose name is apparently not revealed.
What Exactly Happened That Night?
According to the cops, The man living in the house invited Russell to his home for late-night sex, but unfortunately, that never happened because he fell asleep. Russell supposedly thumped on the door along with eight phone calls and texts, yet he never replied. In the fit of her anger, she set the house on fire using a lighter fluid which she had bought from a nearby gas station and left the crime scene after the flames started spreading.
Soon when the victim woke up at 4:40 am, he realized that his house was on fire and it’s flames have blocked most of the exits in the house. Luckily, he was able to get out of the house by removing a window frame from his bedroom.
The man immediately ran towards the Woodbury Police Station, almost two miles away from his home and explained the entire matter to the Police covered head to toe with soot and ash just wearing a T-shirt.
Authorities took the victim to the hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation and first-degree burns.
Though the Woodbury Fire Department rushed to the scene and managed to douse the fire and rescue the man’s dog, but, the house was completely destroyed.
